Los Angeles, CA––Fashion Styling Program Launch at California State University in Los Angeles
On September 27, 2010 the first-ever comprehensive fashion styling program on the west coast will launch at Cal State LA.
The program was designed and is being coordinated by former styling agent and author, Crystal Wright, whose book "The Hair Makeup & Fashion Styling Career Guide" is already being used as the text book for fashion styling courses at some of the most prestigious colleges in the US, including FIT in New York, and the Art Institutes in Miami and Nashville.
"I am such a fan of the fantastic program they have at FIT in New York," says Wright. "It didn't make any sense that we didn't have a complete program here in the entertainment capital of the world.
For instructors, Wright has tapped many of the people she worked with when she represented artists. New York based fashion stylist Cheryl Gray, a recent LA transplant will teach the first Intro to Fashion Styling course on Wednesdays beginning September 29th, and celebrated fashion stylist and costume designer Cory Savage will teach History of Fashion, on Monday's starting September 27th.
The courses include guest speakers, field trips, photo shoots and lots of homework! The best part? The courses run from $350 - $425 per course + materials, books and some additional monies for retouching on portfolio book prints, etc.
